Must confess downloaded Platform IO some time ago to use with Arduino and gave up, so very pleased finding your information. Thank you to all concerned

The only thing I’ve modified in the code is instead of “LED” I used “LED_BUILTIN” because It did not blink otherwise.

I have Ubuntu and python 3.10.12, and there was just one more step to get platformIO going, for anyone getting an interpreter error

sudo apt install python3-venv

Found it on

Hi.
When creating the project, the framework should be arduino.
You selected a different one.
Regards,
Sara

[env:d1_wroom_02]
platform = espressif8266
board = d1_wroom_02
framework = esp8266-nonos-sdk
monitor_speed = 115200

no src/main.cpp is auto injected
when I create one

#include <Arduino.h>

#define LED 2

void setup() {
// put your setup code here, to run once:
Serial.begin(115200);
pinMode(LED, OUTPUT);
}

void loop() {
// put your main code here, to run repeatedly:
digitalWrite(LED, HIGH);
Serial.println(“LED is on”);
delay(1000);
digitalWrite(LED, LOW);
Serial.println(“LED is off”);
delay(1000);
}

it cannot find <Arduino.h>

Is there some prerequisites not mentioned ?
