Maybe it is a ch340c – therfore you have to install a different driver.

Cheers

Hi.
That message means the upload was successful.
Now, you just need to press the ESP32 RST button, and it will start running the code.
Regards,
Sara

Hello I’m the novice and boy oh boy do I have an headache.

If you are happy to help I’m trying to drive a RD-03 people detector with a AZ-delivery ESP32-WROOM-32 and using C in Arduino IDE (never used C, Arduino IDE, or programmed an ESP32).

The code compiles and the upload works all without any errors. Then it reports ‘Hard resetting via RTS pin…’ and just doesn’t do anything else.

Can you help me?

I have got it working with Arduino IDE, but I’m normally using VSC.
Thanks

I remember getting stuck with the dreaded “Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out…” error multiple times. It was frustrating until I learned the trick with holding down the BOOT button. Once I sorted that out, everything ran smoothly. Speaking of challenges, I recently had to upgrade Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, and the linked guide really simplified the whole process. Kudos for sharing these solutions!”
